How no deposit free spins work in the UK
A no deposit free spins offer gives you a set number of spins on one named slot when you open an account, without paying anything in. Each spin has a fixed value, usually the slot's lowest stake of 10p or 20p. What the spins win goes either straight to your cash balance or to a bonus balance that has to be wagered first. That single line in the terms decides most of the value.
- Register with your real name, date of birth and address. Some offers need a code at this point, some need you to confirm your phone or email first.
- Play the spins on the named slot. They usually expire within 24 hours to 7 days, and each day's spins may expire separately.
- Clear any wagering on the winnings. With 10x on £4 of winnings you must place £40 of bets before anything can be withdrawn.
- Withdraw up to the maximum cashout, after the casino has checked your identity.
Three numbers in the terms tell you almost everything: the value of each spin, the wagering multiple on the winnings and the maximum cashout. The spin count, which is the number in the headline, matters least. Fifty spins at 10p are £5 of play; ten spins at 10p are £1.
No wagering free spins and the 10x rule
No wagering spins pay their winnings as cash, so what you win is yours up to the cap. They are the most searched variant after the head term itself, and for good reason: in our simulation they kept almost all of their value, while the same spins with wagering lost between a quarter and two thirds of it.
The rules changed in 2026. On 19 January 2026 an amended Social Responsibility code 5.1.1 came into force for every operator licensed by the Gambling Commission: a bonus may not carry wagering above 10 times, and one offer may not tie two products together, such as a sports bet that unlocks casino spins. On a GB-licensed site you should no longer see 35x or 50x on free spin winnings at all.
| What the terms say | GB-licensed casino | Casino with another licence |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum wagering on a bonus | 10x, set by SR code 5.1.1 | Whatever the terms say; 35x to 60x is common |
| Casino spins tied to a sports bet | Not allowed in one offer | Allowed |
| Age and identity check | Before you gamble at all | Often only when you withdraw |
| GamStop self-exclusion | Applies | Does not apply |
The casinos in our list hold licences from outside Great Britain, so the 10x cap does not bind them; their own terms decide. Read the wagering line on every offer and compare it with the table below. Where the terms say "no wagering" or "wager free", the winnings should appear as cash straight after the last spin.
What free spins are worth after the wagering

| Offer (spins at 10p) | Face value | Average cash, high volatility | Average cash, low volatility | Players who cash out anything |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 spins, no wagering, £50 cap | £1 | £0.90 | £0.96 | 90% / 100% |
| 10 spins, 10x, £50 cap | £1 | £0.46 | £0.74 | 4.5% / 11.8% |
| 10 spins, 35x, £50 cap | £1 | £0.32 | £0.61 | 1.7% / 5.2% |
| 50 spins, no wagering, £100 cap | £5 | £4.74 | £4.80 | 100% / 100% |
| 50 spins, 10x, £100 cap | £5 | £2.63 | £3.58 | 10.2% / 28.2% |
| 50 spins, 35x, £100 cap | £5 | £1.88 | £2.67 | 3.7% / 12.1% |
| 150 spins, no wagering, £100 cap | £15 | £14.00 | £14.39 | 100% / 100% |
| 150 spins, 10x, £100 cap | £15 | £6.68 | £10.01 | 15.7% / 46.4% |
How we got these numbers: 100,000 simulated players per offer on two declared slot models with a 96% return to player, one with frequent small wins and one with rare large ones. They are models, not real games. Wagering bets are 20p, and a player who runs out of balance before the requirement is met cashes out nothing. The average per player hides how the money is shared: with 10x on 50 spins, the high-volatility model paid something to only 10 players in 100, and those ten averaged about £26 each.
Why do so few finish? Wagering asks you to bet the winnings many times over, and every bet costs 4% on average at 96% RTP. On small balances a short losing run ends the attempt. More spins help because the starting balance is larger: with 10x, 16 to 46 players in 100 finished with 150 spins, against 5 to 12 in 100 with 10 spins.
Free spins on registration and add card offers
"Free spins on registration" means the spins arrive when the account is opened, with no payment. "Add card" offers are a UK habit: the spins arrive once you register a debit card, but nothing is taken from it. The card is used to confirm your identity and to stop one person opening several accounts, and it will usually be the method your winnings are paid back to.
- Adding a card is not a deposit, but read whether the offer turns into a deposit bonus later, for example spins that unlock only after a first payment.
- Ten spins at 10p are £1 of play. With no wagering the average return is about 96p; with 35x it fell to 32p to 61p in our simulation.
- Use a card in your own name. A card that does not match the account is one of the most common reasons a first withdrawal is held.
On GB-licensed sites the Gambling Commission requires the casino to check your age and identity before you gamble, and says a casino cannot make ID a condition of withdrawing if it could have asked earlier. Casinos licensed elsewhere often check only at the first withdrawal, so expect to send documents then.
Free £10 no deposit and other amounts
A free £10 is bonus cash rather than spins, and it can usually be played on several slots. The multiple is applied to the whole £10, so 10x means £100 of bets and 40x means £400. At a 4% average cost per bet, £400 of wagering costs about £16, which is more than the bonus, and that is why so few players finish at high multiples.

The cap matters less than the multiple at these sizes, but it is not free: with a £50 cap instead of £100, the 40x offer fell from £3.79 to £2.08 on the high-volatility model, because the rare large wins are cut off. Offers such as 150 spins on Book of Dead follow the same arithmetic as any other spins: 150 spins at 10p are £15 of play, and the wagering line decides how much of it survives. Treat an offer that does not state the spin value as an unknown, not as a large number.
Winning real money: caps, withdrawals and ID checks
You can win real money from no deposit spins, within limits set by the terms. Before you play, find these lines:
- Maximum cashout: £50 and £100 are typical. Anything above it is removed when you withdraw.
- Maximum bet while wagering: often £2 to £5, or a share of the bonus. One bet above it can void the winnings.
- Eligible games: table games and live games often count little or nothing towards wagering.
- Minimum withdrawal and a verification deposit: some casinos ask for a small deposit before the first withdrawal of bonus winnings, to confirm the payment method.
- Expiry: spins, bonus funds and the wagering each have their own clock.
If a withdrawal is pending, leave it alone; reversing it puts the money back into play. Our guide on cancelling a casino withdrawal explains why GB rules no longer allow that option and what happens at other sites.
New no deposit casinos and bonus codes in 2026
New casinos use no deposit offers to get their first players. A new name is not a reason to skip the checks: look at the licence, the owner named in the footer and the withdrawal limits before you register. Our list of new casino sites shows what we found for each.
Codes are the other half of that search. Many offers need no code; when one is needed it is usually tied to a specific link or an end date, and a code copied from an old forum post often does nothing. Take codes from the casino's own promotion terms, enter them at sign-up rather than afterwards, and check that the spins or bonus appear before you play. Offers for existing customers, such as daily spins or a wheel, are sent through the account or by email and are personal, so a public list cannot cover them well.
No deposit bonuses not on GamStop
Searches for free spins not on GamStop come from players looking at casinos outside the British licence. GamStop is the free national self-exclusion scheme for online gambling at GB-licensed operators: you choose a minimum period of six months, one year or five years, and it cannot be cancelled early. When the period ends it stays in place until you ask for it to be removed. Casinos licensed elsewhere are not connected to it.
That is the difference to understand before you sign up: a casino outside GamStop also sits outside the Gambling Commission's rules on wagering, identity checks and complaints, and the protection you get is the one its own licence provides. Check the rules that apply where you live yourself. Our page on non GameStop casinos covers the licences behind these sites, and the online slots guide covers the games most free spins run on.
What we did not check: we have not claimed these offers or tested a withdrawal ourselves. The values on this page come from typical terms and our simulation, not from play at the listed casinos.
